  Residence Permit and Visa

Before entering the country, overseas students are required to visit the Chinese Embassy or Consulate to apply for a Chinese visa. When applying for the visa, please carry your valid passport, original admission notice, and other necessary documents such as the Foreign Student Visa Application Form (JW201/JW202 form). After obtaining the Chinese visa, please ensure that you retrieve your passport, original admission notice, JW201/JW202 form, and the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Upon arrival at the school, you will need these documents to apply for a residence permit.

Residence Permit

1. All international students who come to study in our university should apply for X visa.

2. International students holding X2 visa must apply for foreigner's residence permit within 30 days from the date of entering China.

3. For the convenience of freshmen, the teachers of International Student Office can help students to apply for residence permit when registering. For details, please consult the teacher in charge.

4. International students can also go to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau (Address: No.2, Andingmen East Street, Dongcheng District, Tel: 84020101) to apply for residence permit with the following documents.

The following documents are required to apply for residence permit:

a. Valid passport (ordinary passport required) and visa, Foreigner Physical Examination Certificate;

b. Application Form for Foreigner's Visa and Residence Permit affixed with the official seal of the International Exchange Center and pasted with a two-inch recent half-length front and bareheaded photo (white background);

c. Letter of Acceptance issued by the school;

d. Original copy of accommodation registration;

5. The validity period of residence permit (not exceeding the validity period of passport) generally does not exceed one year. International students who stop their studies must leave China before their residence permit expires, while students who continue to study in China must apply for an extension before the permit expires.

6. If the contents of the residence permit are changed, the holder should go to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Municipal Public Security Bureau to go through the procedures of alteration within 10 days; otherwise, the public security bureau will punish the holder according to relevant regulations.

7. For the transfer of residence permit, the holder shall go through the procedures of transfer at the Exit and Entry Administration department of public security in the place of departure or destination within 10 days.

   Visa

1. International students who want to go abroad (including To Hong Kong and Macao) within the validity period of their residence permit do not need to apply for a return visa, but should register at the International Student Office in advance.

2. When transferring to another city, students should go to the International Student Office to go through relevant procedures, and the teacher in charge will issue the transfer certificate. After arriving at the place of destination, the applicant shall apply for residence permit at the public security Bureau of the place of destination within 10 days (and within the validity period of residence permit).

3. The time for the application for extension, alteration, re-entry visa and migration by the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau is generally two weeks, and the application can be expedited under special circumstances.

4. All kinds of visas and certificates shall not be altered or damaged. Violators will be punished. The foreigner's residence permit should be kept properly. If it is lost, it should be reported to the teacher in charge of the International Student Office. The international students should report the loss and apply for a replacement at the Exit and Entry Administration Office of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau with the school certificate.

5. International students should register at the beginning of each semester. Those who do not meet the registration requirements or fail to pay tuition fees without approval shall not be registered. In case of failure to register within the prescribed period for some reason, the registration shall be postponed. Those who fail to register without asking for leave or failing to apply for leave within 10 working days shall be treated as automatic withdrawal. Unregistered international students will not be treated as on-campus students.

居留事务

一、居留许可及签证

境外学生入境前请前往中国大使馆或领事馆申请中国签证申请签证时，请随身携带有效护照、录取通知书原件和外国留学生签证申请表 (JW201/JW202表格)等其他所需材料。获得中国签证后，请确保同时取回护照、录取通知书原件、JW201/JW202表格、外国人体格检查表等。到达学校后，需使用以上文件来申请居留许可。

（一）居留许可

1、凡来我校学习的外国留学生应申请X签证。

2、持X2签证的留学生自入境之日起30天内必须申请办理外国人居留许可。

3、新生报到注册时，为方便学生，留学生办公室老师可帮助学生办理居留许可申请手续，详情请咨询主管老师。

4、留学生也可以持以下文件自行到北京市公安局出入境管理处（地址：东城区安定门东大街2号 电话:84020101）办理居留许可申请手续。

办理居留许可需要以下文件材料：

a、本人有效护照（须持普通护照）及签证，《外国人体格检查验证证明》；

b、加盖国际交流中心公章、粘贴一张二寸近期半身正面免冠照片（背景须为白色）的《外国人签证、居留许可申请表》；

c、学校出具的《录取通知书》；

d、住宿登记原件；

5、居留许可有效期限（不超过护照有效期）一般不超过一年。留学生如果停止学习在居留许可到期前必须离境，继续学习者必须在到期前办理延期手续。

6、居留许可项目内容变更，持证人须在10日内到市公安局出入境管理处办理变更手续，否则，公安机关将按照有关规定予以处罚。

7、居留许可迁移，持证人须在10日内到迁出地或迁入地的公安出入境管理部门办理迁移手续。

（二）签证

1、留学生在居留许可有效期内出境（包括到香港、澳门地区），不需要申请往返签证，但须提前到留学生办公室登记。

2、留学生转学至另一城市时，须到留学生办公室办理相关手续，由主管老师出具转学证明。到达迁入地后须在10天内（且在居留许可有效期内）到迁入地公安局办理居留许可申请手续。

3、北京市公安局出入境管理处办理延期、变更、再入境签证、迁移手续的时间一般为两个星期，特殊情况可以加急办理。

4、各种签证、证件不得涂改、损坏，违者将受到处罚。外国人居留许可应妥为保管，如有遗失须向留学生管理办公室主管老师通报，留学生本人持学校证明到北京市公安局出入境管理处办理有关挂失、补办手续。

5、留学生应在每学期初的规定时间内注册。不符合注册条件或未经批准而不缴纳学费的，不予注册。因故不能按期注册的，应办理暂缓注册手续。未请假或者请假未准逾期十个工作日不注册的，按自动退学处理。未注册的国际学生不享受在校学生待遇。
